Monticello Wine Tours picks up at Wintergreen Resort at no extra cost. Thus far, we are the only wine tour operator from Charlottesville that does not charge additional fees to pick up on top of this Blue Ridge mountain.
Each tour is custom, providing an opportunity to visit multiple vineyards or breweries, each with its distinct charm and specialties, which our award winning team fully understand.
A typical route involves a visit to several wineries and usually last 5 hours, where guests partake in tasting sessions. Stop at the resort coffee shop first, tours usually begin at 10:30 or 11. These sessions are not just about sipping wine; they’re an exploration of flavors and aromas, guided by knowledgeable staff who provide insights into each wine’s profile. Many tours also include food pairings, offering a taste of local cuisine that complements the wines.
Lastly, Monticello Wine Tour only operates Mercedes Sprinter Vans or Chevrolet Suburbans with panoramic sunroofs, the most modern fleet with the most modern amenities. Please note, while Wintergreen Resort is next to the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are not allowed to use the parkway as a route. Additionally, often the parkway is not open in the winter post winter storms.
